Topic:Taste Sensation, Homeostasis and Decision-making Behavior 

Abstract: 

How to sense and discriminate between different food chemicals is critical for fitness and survival of most animals. The taste system plays important role in this process. In this seminar, I will discuss my research on the molecular and cellular mechanism of sour taste and the effect of sour taste on feeding and oviposition behaviors in Drosophila. In addition, I will discuss my recent progress on the cellular mechanism of salt taste, and the modulation mechanism of salt taste by homeostasis.

报告人简介:

陈严,博士,研究员。2002年于北京师范大学获学士学位,2009年于中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所获博士学位,2009年12月-2019年4月在美国Texas A&M University从事博士后和Research Scientist研究,2019年5月入职云南大学生命科学中心。主要研究兴趣为以果蝇为模式,运用遗传学、活体钙成像、电生理以及行为学等手段,探索味觉感受的分子细胞机制、味觉感受调控取食行为的神经环路、代谢以及内稳态对味觉感受的调控机理。相关研究发表在Current Biology, eLife, Journal of Neuroscience等国际著名杂志上。
