A symposium “Hearing and Deafness: from Basic to Clinic” was successfully held in Zheng Yu-tong Lecture Hall at Tsinghua University on November 1, 2017. We were honored to have 10 speakers: Dr. Ping Chen from Emory University, Dr. Robert Fettiplace from University of Wisconsin, Madison, Dr. David He from Greighton University, Dr. Xi Lin from Emory University, Dr. Ulrich Mueller from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Anthony Ricci from Stanford University, Dr. Mark Rutherford from Washington University, Dr. Bailong Xiao from Tsinghua University, Dr. Shiming Yang from the PLA General Hospital, and Dr. Jian Zuo from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They are leading scientists in the hearing field and have shared the latest research with the audience in major aspects including molecular genetics, developmental biology, physiology, and therapeutics of auditory neuroscience.
Sponsored by the Tsinghua-IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research and the Tsinghua-PKU Joint Center for Life Sciences, the symposium was hosted by Dr. Wei Xiong and Dr. Wei Zhang, who are principal investigators of School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University.
