Abstract
Neurotechnology encompasses instrumentation designed for molecular/cellular to whole brian neuroscience research. Further, the field encompasses methods of signal processing for neural data analysis and clinical applications, imaging of brain using multiple modalities, from structure to function, and emerging areas such as neural cell/tissue engineering, optogenetics, brain machine interface, and neural prosthesis. I will give overview of our both at JHU, in the areas of neural imaging and signal processing, as well as neuroprothesis, and SINAPSE, in the areas of a) implantable neurotechnologies, b) neural cellular engineering (Neuro Chip), c) neuromorphic engineering (brain inspired touch/vision) and d) cognitive engineering. I will present both examples and translational applications emerging from our research. The talk will end with a discussion of possible areas of collaboration as well as recruiting and exchange with JHU and SINAPSE.
