On July 14, 2017, the 5th McG/CLS Summer School on Neurological and Cognitive Sciences was officially opened in Tsinghua University. A total of 96 undergraduates from major universities in China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas universities will conduct 7-day systematic learning of neuroscience and cognitive science in Tsinghua University and Peking University. The curriculum modules cover nerve circuits, synapses, sensation, learning and memory, neurological diseases, psychological awareness, etc.

On that night, a grand opening ceremony was held. Participants in the opening ceremony included Dr. Yichang Jia , Dr. Wei Xiong, senior graduate students who volunteered for the event, and undergraduate assistants who participated in previous summer classes. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Hailong Lu of Yichang Jia Laboratory. In turn, Dr. Yichang Jia gave an opening speech and introduced the arrangement of the activities. From this time, the chief coach , Jisong Guan Laboratory doctoral student Hu Yi introduced the coaching team. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, everyone knows each other well and prepares for the next week's full schedule and activities.
