Dr. Yinqing Li was selected as MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 China

Date:2019-01-21

Since 1999,  MIT Technology Review has selected a group of most innovative and influential scientists, researchers and technology entrepreneurs under 35 years of age every year. These young innovators under 35 years of age have exerted great influence on the world today, such as Mark Anderson, the creator of Netscape Web Browser, who was elected in 1999. and Yang Zhiyuan (founder of Yahoo). Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who were elected in 2002, are the co-founders of  Google. Lisa Su is the CEO of AMD. Mark Zuckberg (founder of Facebook) in 2007, and In 2014, Professor Feng Zhang (a leading global CRISPR researcher, accelerated the development of global gene editing research since its inception) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology was secleted.

MIT Technology Review's list of "35 people under 35" officially landed in China in 2017. On January 30, 2018, the first list of winners of "35 people under 35" in China was unveiled. On January 21, 2019,MIT Technology Review's list of "35 people under 35" in China was officially announced at the awarding ceremony of "35 people under 35" in 2018.  Dr. Yinqing Li, a pricinple invenstigator at Tsinghua University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research, was selected as the winner.

[Research Focus]

Yinqing Li has a longstanding interest in developing technologies for better diagnosis and management of complex diseases. In particular, his research focuses on methods for identifying key molecular and cell players in the development of diseases and methods for gene and cell editing. Specific approaches include: single cell multi-omics of epigenetics, transcriptome, and signaling pathway profiling, discovery of novel genome and epigenome editing tools, and statistical inference and machine learning algorithms for high throughput data mining and processing.
