The IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Tsinghua University was established in 2011, with the generous support from the McGoverns and IDG. The goal is to build a world leading, new technology driven brain research center. The Institute currently hosts more than 23 outstanding faculty members in the fields of neuroscience and neuroengineering. Scientists working in the IDG/McGovern Institute at Tsinghua University use the latest advances in molecular and cellular biology, imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral techniques to investigate how brain functions and how to prevent and treat brain disorders.
