On March 19, 2020,IDG/McGovern Institute of Brain Research at Tsinghua held a ceremony in memory of Mr. McGovern.Professor Song-hai Shi,director of the institute, presented flowers at the memorial to commemorate Mr. McGovern for his generous donation and support for the research and development of neuroscience in China.

On March 25th, a research paper entitled “Centrosome Anchoring Regulates Progenitor Properties and Cortical formation” was published online in Nature by the groups of Dr. Song-Hai Shi and Dr. Hang Shi in the School of Life Sciences, IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research and Advanced Innovation Center for Structural Biology, Tsinghua University

'2019 International Conference on Neural cells,circuits and behaviors' was held at Mengminwei Concert Hall, Tsinghua University, China, Nov. 25-26. The conference was jointly organized by Song-hai Shi, director of Tsinghua-IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Reseach, Minmin Luo, director of Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing, Yi Rao, director of Peking University-IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research, and Wu Li, director of Beijing Normal University-IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research.

Bailong Xiao, PI of Tsinghua-IDG/McGovern institute for Brain Research was awarded the WuXi AppTec Prize for Life Chemistry,in Beijing on December 8, 2019.
