On February 5, 2019, two cover articles, "Piezo-like gene regulates locomotion in Drosophila larvae" and "Mechanically activated Piezo channels mediate touch and suppress acute mechanical pain response in mice" were published simultaneously by Dr. Zhang Wei, PI at Tsinghua University School of Life , IDG/McGovern Institute For Brain Research, and Xiao Bailong, PI at Tsinghua University SciencesSchool of Pharmaceutical Sciences and IDG/McGovern Institute For Brain Research.

On December 29, 2018, the Annual General Meeting of Tsinghua-IDG/McGovern Institute was successfully held.

On December 18, 2018, the 12th "WuXi AppTec Prize for Life Chemistry Research Scholars" awarding ceremony was solemnly held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The ceremony unveiled the winners of the "WuXi AppTec Prize for Life Chemistry Research Scholars" in 2018. Dr. Kexin Yuan, associate profesor of School of Medicine at Tsinghua University and Pricinple investigator of Tsinghua-IDG/Mcgovern Institute, was awarded this prize.

Tsinghua-IDG/McGovern Institute established the“Brain+X” Seed Grant Programp on December 16, 2017, aiming to support innovative cooperation among departments of Neurology and brain sciences of Tsinghua University, and to promote effective intersection and deep integration of neuroscience and brain sciences of Tsinghua University with other disciplines.
