Nineteen scientists of neuroscience, computer science, life sciences, and automation from Tsinghua, Peking University, Beijing Normal University.
With the advance and progress of genome editing technology, that reshapes the neuroscience among other fields. The genome manipulation becomes easier and accessible, which was hard to achieve or even impossible in the past. In order to increase the exchange of scientists in the field, Tsinghua McGovern for brain research hosted a one day symposium and hoped the idea exchange would nourish the future collaboration between groups, and stimulate brilliant ideas to better understand and prevent the diseases.

IMIBR organized its first retreat from May 9 to May 10 at Great Wall Village. The main topic is to discuss the development strategy for IMIBR and “Tsinghua Brain Project” under the coming China’s Brain Project. The theme is “think big, team-work and have fun”. There are a total of 23 people joined the retreat.
Dr. Douglas Black from HHMI/UCLA, Dr. Xiangdong Fu from UCSD,? Dr. Zilong Qiu, Represented by Dr. Tian-Lin Cheng, Institute of Neuroscience (ION), Shanghai, Dr. Jisong Guan, Dr. Yichang Jia, Dr. Xiaohua Shen, and Dr. Geng Wang from Tsinghua, 7 professors presented their research in the symposium. There are about 200 students.
