IMIBR organized its first retreat from May 9 to May 10 at Great Wall Village. The main topic is to discuss the development strategy for IMIBR and “Tsinghua Brain Project” under the coming China’s Brain Project. The theme is “think big, team-work and have fun”. There are a total of 23 people joined the retreat.

Dr. Douglas Black from HHMI/UCLA, Dr. Xiangdong Fu from UCSD,? Dr. Zilong Qiu, Represented by Dr. Tian-Lin Cheng, Institute of Neuroscience (ION), Shanghai, Dr. Jisong Guan, Dr. Yichang Jia, Dr. Xiaohua Shen, and Dr. Geng Wang from Tsinghua, 7 professors presented their research in the symposium. There are about 200 students.

2014 Tsinghua McGovern Mini Symposium of Graduate Students and Poster Exhibition was held at the McGovern Hall at the Cheng Yu Tung Medical Sciences Building on the afternoon of May 13, 2014. Ms. Lore Harp McGovern, one of the sponsors of IMIBR Tsinghua and Dr. Robert Desimone, Director of McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT were in attendance. Professor Bai LU, Dean of School of Medicine, Tsinghua University, Professor Yi ZHONG, Director of IMIBR Tsinghua, and Professor Bo HONG, Vice Dean of School of Medicine, Tsinghua University were also in attendance at the seminars and related activities. McGovern Institute professors and investigators, post-doctoral and graduate students all actively participated in the symposium.

11月24日，清华大学-IDG/麦戈文脑科学研究院揭牌典礼在清华大学郑裕彤医学楼脑科学研究院举行，捐赠人美国国际数据集团（IDG）创始人兼董事长麦戈文（Patrick McGovern）先生及夫人劳拉? 麦戈文（Lore Harp McGovern）等出席活动。

The McGovern Institute Symposium on New Frontiers in Brain Research was held in Tsinghua’s Main Building on February 24th and 25th. Professor Shi Yigong, Vice Director of Tsinghua’s Institute of Biomedicine, hosted the Symposium. Professor Robert Desimone, Director of the McGovern Institute for Brain Research, and Tsinghua University Vice President Xie Weihe attended the opening ceremony.
